PCR: post-consumer recycle, is a general term for a type of plastic.
PCR-PET stands for post-consumer recycled PET.
PET that has gone through the process of production→consumption→recycling→regranulation→certification can be collectively referred to as PCR-PET. Without certification, it can only be defined as recycled material, that is, R-PET.
2. What are the PCR-PET certification standards?
At present, the EU GRS certification is recognized in the market, and there is no such certification standard in China.
3. What are the sources of PCR-PET?
The source is mainly clear or colored PET bottle flakes.
4. What are the granulation methods of PCR-PET?
Granulation methods include: physical drawing and chemical polymerization.
Physical drawing is now the mainstream regranulation method. After the recycled materials are melted, they are drawn by the screw rod and pelletized.
Chemical polymerization is to extract the required monomers from the recycled materials through chemical solvents, and then add catalysts or tertiary monomers to polymerize. In this process, differentiated products can be produced.
